Adara’s Financial Literacy & Inclusion programs seek to address two key barriers of financial inclusion for women and youth: financial literacy and financial accessibility. Our goal is to empower women and youth with information, knowledge and the confidence to make informed financial choices and improve their financial wellbeing. Since 2019, the Foundation has delivered Financial Literacy & Inclusion Fairs in 6 communities (Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Alimosho, Mushin, Lagos Island, Surulere and Ajegunle) in Lagos State, and in Benin City, Edo state reaching about 2,500 women and youths.
The Fairs aim to improve participants' understanding of personal finance and its relevance to their financial health; minimize barriers to the formal financial sector; and connect women and youth with supportive business and financial development resources.
The Fairs were made possible through funding support from ACT Foundation and in partnership with Rite Foods, Opay, ReadyCash, Paycenter and Minimal excess.
